Jenga 7.0 "Lucky number 7"

This semester is coming to a close, and along with all the other hustle and bustle our final project sheet was allotted to us on Friday. A great amount of deliverables were required as the final project of the semester is often the most demanding but that was hardly the catch in this last iteration of the Jenga series. Jenga 1.0 + 2.0 we worked individually, Jenga 3.0 + 4.0 we worked in groups of three, Jenga 5.0 and 6.0 we joined together for groups of 6, and as you may guess for this final project we will be working in team of twelve. That is quite alot of people to be contributing and pull all together to form a cohesive whole so organization is of course a must. Yesterday we met all together to decide group leaders, a team name, and preferred responsibilities. With 54 deliverables, it is essential to have team members consistently bridging the gaps between work to form this unified project, but also to divide the work in a way that team members are both working on responsibilities they feel they produce strong work for, and learning new skills in a timely manner. With so many considerations and people to keep track of, the easiest time for group meetings would inherently be our in class studio time. With an array of considerations well..considered, we merged team "Emerge" and "Tripede" into team "Portmanteau", a word that is defined as the combination of two words, ie: brunch. Moving forward with leaders Austin Loman and Dajana Nedic, I suggested that in the twelve story iteration we should narrow down our design language by discussing aspects of our projects that are essential to maintain and aspects to merge. Today in class our designs will be brought to the table after three one hour charettes, I am excited to both move forward and see the results.
